The Pierre Jeanneret upholstered lounge chair, model PJ-SI-32A, renowned for its comfort and style, adorned various locations in Chandigarh, including the Panjab University, High Court, student housing, and other administrative buildings in 1958-59. As implied by its name, this Chandigarh chair was specifically designed for relaxation and was frequently included as part of a larger seating ensemble with sofas or other seating options. Crafted from solid teakwood, the chair features an upholstered backrest and seat. The armrests, embellished with roll-style stuffed padding, are intentionally left partially exposed, showcasing the wooden frame beneath. Positioned atop flat-profiled 'V' shaped legs, the armrests are connected by two supporting rails from below, enhancing the chair's distinctive design.
