Pierre Jeanneret, Library Chair
A faithful vintage re-edition of the PJ-SI-51A blueprint designed by Pierre Jeanneret in 1959-60. Handcrafted in India.
Unsurprisingly the “Cane Seat & Wood Back Chair” also dubbed the Pierre Jeanneret Library Chair originated at the University Library in Chandigarh. Some models were also added during the second series of furniture at the High Court in Chandigarh. Referenced as PJ-SI-51A (circa 1959-60) in several Pierre Jeanneret catalogs this design has a lot of key elements. The solid teakwood chair has a banner-type backrest and braided caning in the seat. It also boasts of ‘X’ shaped double assembly legs that are connected by a rail at the back.
