This deceptively relaxing three-seat sofa was designed by Pierre Jeanneret for the halls of the general hospital and for private homes in Chandigarh circa 1955. The style might not fit into the idea of a conventional couch but this low two-seat banquette is not only unique but also extremely comfortable. It features a solid teak wood frame with the profiled structure of the backrest forming the base. Braided cane work detailing on the seat and backrest. Three slanted and profiled legs in the front. The slightly curved backrest, seat, and legs are seamlessly connected to each other to form a horizontal ‘Z’ shape.
